David Hilliard - Portrait and Place/site

Year 13 students looking at portrait photography. Check out David Hilliard.

His final works are made into a triptych - 3 part photograph - an interesting method and technique to look into to. Hilliard works' place his subject within an environment.

Look at how he works, ask yourself 'why.'
Do you think he feels it is important where his subjects are photographed. Why?
Is each section composed and photographed separately? What is the meaning or significance of the sectioning of the photograph? Or is it just an aesthetic purpose?
